Breakfast is hands down my favourite meal of the day. It’s also the hardest one to eat, especially if you have a busy life. Whether you’re running out the door on your way to work or school or super busy at home, it’s nice to have something that you can just grab and eat on the go. This super easy breakfast wrap recipe not only solves that, it also has a healthy twist to start the day off right.

Fresh ingredients are they key to making this breakfast wrap extra delicious. You could also easily sub out for your favourite ingredients. What I like about using green onion and tomatoes, though, is chances are you’ll have them readily available in your garden this summer.

Super Easy Breakfast Wrap Recipe

What I love about breakfast wraps is that you can eat them hot or cold and they still taste great. This recipe could easily be made the night before and warmed up in the oven on microwave, too, which is perfect for those weekday breakfasts.

I also love that it’s something that I can make that will always seem original even if make the same thing every day just by changing out the ingredients. You can add sauces for some extra flavour, but if you’re making ahead you might want to stick to dips so you don’t end up with a soggy mess.

Breakfast is so often neglected

Yes, you’re probably thinking “I don’t need a recipe for breakfast wraps!” and you’re probably right. But most of us neglect our bodies in the morning and skip out on eating a good breakfast. Not only are breakfast wraps going to give you the energy you need in the morning, they’re also delicious.

Treat yourself to something more flavorful (and nutritious) than a muffin or even eggs and toast.

Breakfast wrap filling ideas

  • Breakfast meats like sausage, bacon, or ham
  • Green, white, or red onions
  • Cheese (experiment with different varieties)
  • Tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, and spinach
  • Hasbrowns

The biggest thing when playing with fillings is to make sure they’re evenly distributed and don’t overfill your tortilla.

A great kid friendly breakfast idea

If you have kids in the house it can be tricky to get them to eat something for breakfast besides sugary cereal. Sending them off to school with a healthy wrap instead of carbs is going to make them learn better all morning. Plus they’ll stay full for longer.

Picky kids can easily choose what goes inside their breakfast wrap each morning. It’s also a great meal idea that kids can make for themselves or at least help assemble.
