This is a post I dug up from my old blog but this kid is just so cute I thought I’d reshare it. I picked up this perfectly good plain white sweatshirt for my toddler at a local thrift store. With no stains and only a $1 price tag I couldn’t pass it up. but it was a bit boring so I came up with this adorable toddler sweatshirt DIY.

I  like these ones because they don’t run and are quick and easy to use. There’s not really a drying time either so clean up is non-existent unlike fabric paint.

Anyway.

Just draw on a cute design to any plain clothing and snap! Cute fashion for next to nothing.

Fabric Markers

The best part is my 2 year old loved it.

What’s funny about this is that I’m really not much of an artist. In fact, I can’t draw to save my life. If you’re like me then pick something really easy to do. This design took no artistic ability and turned out adorable.

I also suggest you test your design on paper first to make sure that you have your spacing right. Lay the paper on the top of the clothes if you can and draw with a pencil.

Once you’re done, make sure to follow the directions for washing!

I’ve been trying to think of more ways to upcycle/recycle my kids clothes lately. Not just because it saves money but also for the environmental aspect. We just throw so much away! When possible, we try and buy everything second hand.

This toddler sweatshirt DIY from the past got me thinking about how I haven’t done much of this stuff lately. Maybe it’s time to try some more clothing DIY projects.

Have you ever upcycled your kid’s clothes before?
