How to Make Feta Dip With Olives
This recipe will only take about 15 minutes, including oven heating time. The only downside is that you’ll be wanting to make it again and again.
Ingredients Needed
What I love about this recipe is most of the ingredients can be bought ahead of time – great if you want to prepare it for an event and don’t need to running out the day of.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 can of whole pitted olives, drained
- 6 tbsp olive oil, divided
- 6 oz. feta cheese
- 3 oz. softened cream cheese
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1-2 bunches thyme
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- Salt and pepper
- Crusty bread for serving
Step by Step
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- In a heat proof baking dish (I like to use my brie baker) dump the can of drained olives. Then add 3 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 sprigs of time. Season with salt and pepper.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until olives are tender and everything is hot.
- Meanwhile, add crumbled feta, cream cheese, 2 tablespoons of water, and 3 tablespoons of olive oil to a food processor or blender.
- Process for 2-3 minutes, or until well mixed.
- Add the 1 tsp of lemon zest, 1/2 tsp of pepper, and 1 tbsp of honey to the mixture.
- Process again, this time until smooth.
- Pour the feta mixture into a serving bowl and spread it out so it’s even.
- Once olives are done, pour olives and olive oil from the baking dish over the feta mixture.
- Garnish with thyme and enjoy with bread!
