Recently I’ve started to get dressed every day – don’t judge, the pandemic, maternity leave and working from home really put me in a rut. I’ve read countless instances of people suggesting that getting dressed does something for your mood and productivity and I finally put it to the test and concur, in a big way! Now let’s not get too crazy, I’m still talking yoga pants/leggings on the bottom, but I’m at least changing out of the ones I slept in. Yoga pants are my everyday attire now – I actually think almost every top goes with yoga pants. You can try to fault me for my fashion sense, but I’m comfortable and my range of motion will outdo yours any day. We likely all have a different opinion of what the actual cutest tops to wear with yoga pants are but I’m sharing a lot of my faves.
Budget Friendly and Stylish Tops Ahead
There are some super casual shirts in here, as well as a couple of what I consider fancier types. If I’m just around the house I opt for casual but for quick school appts or doctor appts, a slightly fancier top with a cute pair of boots can totally camouflage the ease of yoga pants. Bonus points for all these tops having a reasonable price point – nothing makes me beam with pride more than fielding a compliment for a shirt that was a super steal! This one is super athletic looking, the material and the cut. I would pair it with high rise pants, great for hot weather and easy to toss a longer length sweater to carry into those colder months or later summer months when the morning is extra fresh.

Trendy Oversized Vintage Keep On Smiling Shirt
In the end of the description of this one they actually refer to this one as a sleep shirt – I think it’s far too cute for sleeping in though. The almost acid wash dye is on point, love the smiley face on the front with the keep smiling message on the back. It’s oversized again. The juxtaposition of very fitted yoga pants just goes so well with the oversized trend.

A basic swing tee, a flattering cut on almost every body type. You can’t list the cutest tops to wear with yoga pants and skip a swing tee. Love that it has a little more length in the back, covers the bum for comfort!

Bamboo is soooo soft, I love the slim collar and the rounded hem. Its narrow sleeves and fit, make this one look a lot more expensive than it is. With yoga pants and an open long cardigan, is timeless!

This open back number is so cute! Marketed as a workout top, the open back will really show off all those cute strappy workout bras that are in right now. Easy way to add a pop of colour as well. The angled cut hem on the bottom and the sleeves plus the back opening really all play so well off one another.

The stitching on this one is so lovely, the round hem with the straight seam, wide cuffs and x on the neckline add so much interest. It gives me hockey sweater feels, such a cute casual top.

Love love love a linen shirt, can be worn by itself, over a tank top open or closed, rolling the sleeves up or down, under a knit, or even as a bathing suit cover. It’s just so versatile; can spice up those yoga pants in so many ways with this one. Such a good investment.

Huge believer in any and all things with the words Be Kind on it. Everyone can use the reminder. Love the peachy base with the letter colouring, somehow fits with both the spring and fall hues. The raglan seams makes it a little vintage-y too.

Casual Sleeveless Soft Tunic Tank Top
This is very similar to the swing tee we saw earlier but this one is sleeveless, great for warmer weather or a workout… which I sometimes actually do in my yoga pants. Ha, but not as often as I am simply living in them.
Long Sleeve Drawstring Pullover
I am a sucker for anything stars, or black and white stripes. My friends actually mock me because I have so many similar shirts, I can’t help it! Love that this pattern isn’t too busy, there is lots of negative space, the cuffs are wide, and I love the side slit as well. Always helps a longer top lay nicer.

Oversized V-neck Knit Henley
Oversized henleys are so in right now. You can wear them with everything (especially yoga pants!) This knit has wide cuffless sleeves, has enough length for coverage, you can french tuck it – and the button detail is just chef’s kiss! I have this in the apricot, army green, khaki and yellow… oops! 😛

Loose Pullover Knit Shirt
Another knit! This one does have cuffs and no buttons. The top is a wide off the shoulder neck, great for with a thicker sports bra strap. The almost rounded braided hem is also a nice touch. Great for layering in colder months.
Casual Bohemian Top
Love the sleeves, the pocket, the button detail. It’s flowy and pretty and would be great worn with yoga pants – under a coat, over a tank… It has side slits at the bottom and the colour is so rich for cooler months.
Waffle Knit Tunic Top
Waffle is everywhere right now too. Again such an easy wear but lighter than the knit. I love the way the direction of the sleeves contrasts with the direction of the body of the shirt. The buttons are really cute and the curved hem is so much more flattering than just straight across.

This cotton loose blouse is just as versatile as the linen shirt we just saw. There is something so timeless about a well fitting button up, takes yoga pants from drab to fab in a hurry! Lot of colour options in this one as well.
Oversized Turn up Batwing Sleeve V Neck
This is such a classic, you cannot go wrong with a great fitting white t-shirt. I love the rolled cuff, its vintage and a touch masculine but is balanced with the deeper v, and again an ‘a’ line shirt is just so easy to wear.
Ribbed V-Neck Button Tank
And last, we have this ribbed tank. It’s very similar to some of the sleeved options we’ve already seen but for summer. The triple snap is very cute, love the thick straps, grab it in a few colours!
There you have it, the cutest tops to wear with yoga pants!! Goes without mentioning, that when paired with jeans, structured pants or gasssssp, a skirt – some of them have the potential to be even cuter. For me, while parenting, working and zooming from the waist up – the cutest tops with yoga pants, only, rings true.
