There are so many great Easter dresses for women out there, if you know where to look. Whether you have an Easter dinner with the family to attend, an outdoor Easter egg hunt, or are heading to church there’s something for everyone here.
Living in Manitoba, I know that weather around Easter can be unpredictable – maybe it’s the same where you live too? That’s why I pulled a variety of weather-friendly options. Others can easily be easily changed up with a cardigan or rain coat that you can use as needed.
What to Look for When Choosing Easter Dresses for Women
If you’re not sure where to start when it comes to shopping for adult women’s Easter dresses, don’t worry. It’s a tricky holiday because Easter falls on different days (and weather patterns) every year.
At least where we live some Easters are warm enough to be outdoors in shorts, others require bundling up with snow on the ground!
Spring Colours
Nice, bright colours are always a hit when it comes to Easter fashion. If you’re comfortable this is a great time to wear those bold pinks and yellows that otherwise might stand out.
More subtle pinks, greens, and blues are also nice for this time of year. You can usually get away with wearing these all spring and even throughout the summer. Which is great if you want a dress that you can wear more than just one day a year.
Finally, white is a trick colour for the Easter season. It’s normal for people to not wear white again until after Memorial Day in the US, but this rule isn’t as hard as the “no white after labor day” thing and most stylists agree spring white are OK.
Patterns
Florals are by far the most common patterns you see in women’s Easter dresses. A great pattern can make a dress more flattering or help it stand out without being too bright. Spring florals do a great job of giving that Easter feeling without being as bold as a bright solid coloured dress.
Stripes are also popular for Easter and flattering for most people.
Finally, gingham is another option if you want a more youthful or traditional look.
Material
You can get away with almost any material type in the spring. Of course, lighter and flowy options are definitely more seasonally appropriate – but warmer dresses might be required if you’ll be outside with those early spring breezes.
Cottons and linens are always a classic look. Flowy accents with light tulle material are also nice.
Accents
Frills and bows are pretty popular when it comes to Easter fashion. Other things that scream spring are ruffles, seersucker, ties, smocking, and eyelets.
